350.org – 5 things you need to know about the Youth4Pacific Pre-COP Gathering

1. What is it?

The Youth4Pacific: Pre-COP Gathering is a two-day virtual/hybrid event aimed at bringing together young people from the Pacific region. The summit will be an opportunity for youths to contribute through a constructive and outcome-oriented discussion on issues that need urgent action. In this regard, the summit will provide space for young people in terms of capacity building and the means to effectively engage on COP26 Agenda Items as well as gather an increased understanding of the UNFCCC negotiation processes.

From the 23rd to 24th September FJT

3. Who is going to be there?

Along with over 100 Pacific youth from around the world, the Youth4Pacific program will feature panelists, artists, seafarers, faith leaders, academics and activists from across the region. Workshops will also be held by trainers and organisers from across the movement, sharing knowledge in areas like climate finance, indigenous resistance, artivism, climate policy and more.
