At 19, Shahin Billah, from Patakhali village in Bangladesh has already witnessed four climate disasters. The latest disaster is the massive floods that have inundated one-third of Bangladesh. Shahin has been leading on delivering aid to flood-hit communities and regularly providing flood updates via his Twitter account. On 25th September, Shahin led his community to join the Friday’s for Future’s Global climate strike protests in Patakhali and on the coast of Satkhira.
Elsewhere in Bangladesh, local networks of Fridays for Future Bangladesh and Youthnet for Climate Justice organised boat chains, cycle rallies, and even got parents to come out and show solidarity for their call for Climate Justice.
